  • Length of the bridge will be 1315 km. It will be 359m above sea level.

  • The arch of the bridge was completed in April 2021.
  • The bridge is expected to open to rail traffic in December 2022.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway     

  • An expressway currently under construction, maintained by the NHAI (National Highway Authority of India.
  • The project began in 2019 with an estimated budget of 90000 Crores.
  • The length of the bridge will be 1350 km, while connecting the national and financial capital of the country.
  • It will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 12 hours compared to 24 hours previously.
  • It will connect the DND Flyway in Delhi to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Maharashtra.
  • The project has two phases. Phase One will include 8 Lanes and Phase 2 will have 12 lanes. The additional 4 lanes in the middle of the road may be utilized for future expansion, utilities, plantations or public transport.
  • It is expected to be completed by Jan-Mar 2023.

Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL)   

  • A project that began in April 2018 to meet the high traffic growth of one of India’s biggest cities.
  • It will be the longest sea link in India upon completion.
  • The length of the sea bridge will be 22 km.
  •  It will connect the Indian city of Mumbai with its satellite city, Navi Mumbai.
  • It will run from Sewri in South Mumbai to Nhava Sheva.
